Wedding Planning around Daytona Beach’s Best Events

With over 60 renowned festivals throughout the year, Daytona Beach is known as the “Festival Capital of Florida.” Want to have even more fun at your wedding and delight your guests? If think you might like to have a destination wedding in Daytona Beach, you may want to consider planning around one of its many enticing events.

Halifax Art Festival, which is held in early November, is the second oldest continual art festival in the state and Central Florida’s premier event for holiday shopping. Visitors can peruse art along Beach Street or enjoy the many riverfront shops.

The Greek Festival, also held in early November, is a multi-day event filled with authentic Greek food, music and dancing, as well as riverfront tables for sipping wine, ouzo and other libations. Plus, there are great gifts and souvenirs to be had at its Greek Marketplace.

If you prefer to be a May bride, Cinco de Mayo offers beachfront parties, live music and lots of fun.

Of course, for race fans, there is also the Daytona 500, and February is a beautiful time to visit Florida. If you are more of a motorcycle fan who would prefer to feel the rumble of hundreds of bikes and enjoy live music, great food and scads of vendors, there is Bike Week in mid-March and Biketoberfest in mid-October.

Or take a short jaunt to New Smyrna Beach for the Shrimp and Seafood Fest – a festive August block party where they close down part of Flagler Avenue so that the area’s finest seafood restauranteurs can offer samples of their most delicious dishes! New Smyrna Beach also hosts its Jazz Fest in September. This impressive musical marvel has grown to 24 clubs offering three days of live jazz concerts.
